Testing Genuine Diamond
If you have a diamond or at least you think it is a diamond and you want to test to see if
it is genuine, there are three tests that you can do to find out. A person who has specific
knowledge of diamonds can tell by looking at it if it is real or not. They can tell by the
shine, straightness and flatness and also the way it controls light. But to the untrained
eye it looks like a diamond but these days anyone can make anything look real to someone
who doesn’t know any better.
The first test is an easy one, you can find out a diamonds authenticity is to have the
stone come in contact with either warm and cold weather or surroundings. It can’t be warm
and cold outside so the weather may not be a great idea for now, expose the stone to the
freezer then remove from the cold and touch the stone to your lips, and then do the same
with water surroundings like put the ring in front of the heater and then touch the stone
with your lips.
A truly genuine diamond will adapt to its surroundings, meaning it you place your diamond
in the freezer then it will be cold. Then there is the oldest trick in the book to determine
whether you have a true diamond and that is your diamond can scratch glass. There is no other
stone that can scratch glass.
