Diamond Shapes and Cuts
Diamonds come in many different shapes. Each person has their own personal preference on
which shape they like the best. Most of these shapes can be used in any style of ring design,
such as Tiffany or Cathedral. Here is an informative list of the popular diamond shapes.
Which one is your favorite?
The first shape that we explore is the Round Brilliant shape; the round and the round brilliant
are two different shapes. This shape is a more modern version of the round simply because it
gives off a better shine. Then there is the Oval, this is not a very popular shape for a
solitaire but it can be better suited as an anniversary ring or as a three stone ring. The
Princess shape ring is a square diamond that is almost like the round brilliant in quality
and is now becoming a very popular shape. The Emerald shape ring is more along the lines of
traditional but it is not as popular as it once was.
Then there is the Radiant diamond; this diamond was popular at one point but has now proved
to be in a decline in terms of popularity. The Heart shaped diamond which is beautiful and
is generally very hard to find because there just isn’t enough demand for it. The Marquise
diamond shape is almost like the Emerald but it has more of a traditional look. It is the
fourth most popular cut of diamonds. Lastly is the Pear shaped diamond -- this style can be
found mainly in pendants and not so much in rings. The Pear shape is suitable and beautiful
looking on a white gold chain.
